Bio

I have over 15 years experience as an Internet technology steward.

My expertise includes strategy and implementation of commodity and repurposed hardware, open standards and free software, particularly Ubuntu and Debian Linux, and the Drupal Content Management System.

My past clients run the gamut from Slocan Forest Products to Environment Canada to Greenpeace International.

I am a co-founder of the Vancouver Open Network Initiatives Cooperative, Free Geek Vancouver and Indymedia, and have sat on several non-profit, progressive boards including the Society Promoting Environmental Conservation and the Vancouver Community Net.

My past political party work includes both volunteer and technology consulting for the federal, provincial and municipal levels of the Green Party, Vancouver's Coalition Of Progressive Electors and the Work Less Party.

I am currently the Technical Director for the Fearless Mobile project – working with artists and residents of the DTES to learn and use open mobile technology for community empowerment.

I am an avid meditator in the Buddhist tradition and help maintain websites for the D.I.Y. Dharma community and Birken Forest Monastery.
